Recycle Your Plastic Shopping Bags
Each year, over 6 billion plastic carryout bags are used in our area—that's the equivalent of 600 bags per person! Less than 5 percent of those are recycled. These bags are harmful to the environment, marine animals and other aquatic life. Whenever possible, bring reusable cloth totes back and forth to your favorite stores. And when you must use plastic, return the bags to the store to be properly recycled. Working together, we can reduce plastic bags, protect our environment and preserve our resources for our children. Bell has free, fashionable, and sturdy reusable tote bags available at the Bell Community Center. One cloth bag fits four plastic retail bags of groceries!
